Today was going to be any ordinary day, to say the least. Wake up early, check the staff, and complete Chief's tasks for me, as usual. When all that is done, I am given more tasks. To be frank, I was getting tired of my boring schedule… that is, until I met a very unique person… that I could say she changed my life for good. I'm only writing this experience down so I would never forget the adventure of my lifetime. Hopefully… I can tell this story to others as well.
"Sakochi, why don't you rest up early today? Chief's having a physical test tomorrow, and all the staff is asked to partake in it as well." I hear Fumi tell me straight forward. Of course, she'll let me in the know of any events that I never heard about. Apparently, this was one of them. "Besides, he also mentioned that anyone that fails the examinations will be…"
"Will be what, Fumi?"
"Well… fired."
That made my heart sink. I didn't want to lose my job, so I have to be on my best to keep up with the others. That night, I was restless, tossing and turning in my bed, trying to think about what WILL I do if I were to lose my job. During my sleepless night, I try to shut my eyes so I can at least get some sleep, but I was awoken by a soft, beautiful tune. The sound was like a lullaby, gentle as a flute, and its melody elegant. I open my window to let the sound in, and I notice that the music wasn't being played by a flute… but a leaf. A girl about my age was up in a tree, pressing an unusual leaf up to her lips. As she breaths, she is playing the melody, as if she knew it since she was an infant. While she keeps playing the music, I feel my eyes starting to droop. Was she helping me fall asleep? As she keeps playing, I stumble to my bed, pull my blankets over my now shivering body, and fell asleep fast.
"Rest well, my dear. Tomorrow's a big day for you."
The next day, I wake up about 9:45 am… the testing isn't until noon, so I got time for myself. I look out my window to see that the girl's gone. I smile as I think of her, knowing that she seems to care for me. Next to my lamp was a small box, wrapped in a lavender/sea-green, maple leaf patterned wrapping paper, tied off with a sky blue ribbon. Attached to the ribbon was a little card that read, "I hope you rested well last night. I'm glad you listened to my song. Please come to the woods north of the city and hear me play once more, but come alone. I promise you, no harm will come to you. Follow the flower lanterns placed all over the city; the purple ones will lead you to me."
Once I was done reading the card, I then proceed to open the little package. Inside was a small pouch, containing a beautiful necklace. From what I could tell, the Sapphire beads and Amethyst beads were threaded on fine, woven silk. It could stretch, so I decide to put on the jewelry piece. It shined out from my uniform, as I can't stop smiling at this wonderful gift. There was more weight in my gift box, so I check the contents a second time. In addition to my necklace was actually quite unexpected!
I noticed a miniature laptop in the bottom of the box, along with a basket full of baked goods, like cookies, muffins, and tartlets. The big question is this… How do I get something so tiny out of this box? Using my fingers, I gently brush my new gifts up against the box's side, hoping I can wedge it out. As I manage to get the laptop on the palm of my index finger, I suddenly felt it getting heavier and heavier the longer I held it! I look down at my hands to see the laptop was enlarged to an acutual size. I pick it up with both hands and placed it on my pillow, away from the sides of my bed. Using a toothpick, I carefully hang the bread basket on the small delivery, for that I don't want to spill out the contents. Once the handle's out, I tossed it up into the air, watching it grow unnaturally, then falls into her arms, seeing the baked goods fall back into the basket. One of the treats that didn't make it into the basket falls on top of Makoto's head, as she tries to balance it while holding the basket. Tilting her head slightly, she lets the baked good-a berry tart-fall right into her mouth, holding it with her teeth. Once she placed the basket down, I took a bite out of the tart, and my eyes were suprised.
"MMMM!! This is amazing! How can someone make something this good?" I finish the tart in a few minutes, just as someone knocks on my door.
"Sakochi, you awake now?"
"Yeah, I'm awake now. Come in! " I was in bright spirits now, so I was willing to tell Fumi what has happened to me from the last few minutes.
"Well, that's some crazy story, but there's no way that could possibly happen. I mean, that just doesn't happen… whatever you told me." I was baffled… She doesn't believe me? "Sakochi, you might be dreaming. Well, I should leave you alone for a while. Be at the main hall at noon… sharp, or else you immediately forfeit your position." And like that, Fumi shuts my door.

This idea sprang up for no apparent reason. While I was daydreaming, I thought of an OC that had the ability to perform any sort of magic anyone could think of. She could play music using leaves as like a whistle, and she gives folks the most astonishing gifts! Now the problem was this... How can I back up my character?
While playing with my DS, I thought about my game Devil Survivor 2. Most of the characters are straight forward, but there was one that I had to choose. I chose Makoto Sako above all others, due to her loyalty to her boss/chief, Yamato Hotsuin. What if he had no purpose for her at this rate? That is what I was thinking about this plot. I hope you all enjoy this story, but if you want more, don't feel down! There is more to come!

I like this story premise, it was an interesting read and I'd love to read more about these people/world. I like the girl what was in the tree, and what a generous gift! Are these characters OC versions of Devil Survivor characters?
